Description

These hearty ground meat rolls are the perfect snack for any party or a hearty lunch. I've been making them for years and they're always a hit! The secret is the spicy ground meat mixture with peppers, onions and a good portion of cheese. The rolls can be prepared well in advance and taste best warm. Vary the filling as you like - olives, pepperoni or other vegetables are a great fit. An absolute favorite recipe that is easy to prepare and guaranteed to please everyone!

Ingredients (18 ingredients)

  • 750 g Ground meat mixed
  • 5 piece Onion(s) m.-large
  • 1 can Corn small
  • 4 piece Bell pepper(s) red or yellow
  • Salami diced
  • 6 slice Cooked ham
  • 4 tbsp Tomato paste
  • 2 Pck. Cheese grated, spicy
  • 2 Pck. Processed cheese
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Thyme
  • Rosemary
  • Paprika powder, hot
  • Oregano
  • Chili flakes
  • 3 piece Egg(s) fresh
  • 20 piece Part-baked rolls

Preparation (4 steps)

Chop onions and peppers

Put 5 medium-sized onions into the mixing bowl and chop for 3 sec./speed 5. Add 4 red or yellow bell peppers and chop for another 3 sec./speed 5. Use the spatula to push everything down from the edge.

Prepare ground meat mixture

Put 750 g of mixed ground meat, 1 can of small corn, diced salami as needed, 6 slices of cooked ham, 4 tablespoons of tomato paste, 2 packs of spicy, grated cheese, 2 packs of processed cheese, salt, pepper, thyme, rosemary, hot paprika powder, oregano, chili flakes and 3 fresh eggs in a large bowl. Add the chopped onions and peppers from the mixing bowl to the bowl and mix everything thoroughly.

Let the mixture sit

Cover the ground meat mixture and let it sit in the refrigerator overnight so that the spices develop. Add salt if necessary.

Top and bake rolls

Use a fork to generously spread the ground meat mixture on the 20 part-baked rolls. Place the topped rolls on a baking sheet and bake at 180 °C circulating air for 20 - 30 minutes until golden brown.
