Description

These hearty trout breads with beetroot are a real eye-catcher and taste simply delicious! The combination of smoked trout, creamy beetroot cream cheese and a hint of horseradish is simply unbeatable. I like to make these breads as a quick snack in between meals or as a delicious appetizer for guests. The preparation is super easy and only takes a few minutes. Perfect when you need something quick! The beetroot provides a great color and a slightly sweet taste that harmonizes wonderfully with the salty fish. An absolute must for all fish lovers!

Ingredients (8 ingredients)

  • 100 g Beetroot (glass)
  • 175 g Double cream cheese
  • 3 tsp Horseradish (glass)
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper
  • 4 slice Black bread or dark wholemeal bread
  • 250 g Smoked trout fillets
  • Cress for garnish

Preparation (3 steps)

Chop and puree beetroot

Thermomix® Setting
5 sec/Speed 5, 30 sec/Speed 8

Place 100 g beetroot (from the glass) in the mixing bowl and chop for 5 sec./level 5. Then puree for 30 sec./level 8.

Add cream cheese and horseradish and mix

Thermomix® Setting
20 sec/Speed 3

Add 175 g double cream cheese and 3 tsp horseradish (from the glass) to the mixing bowl and stir for 20 sec./level 3. Season with salt and pepper.

Top and garnish breads

Spread the beetroot cream on 4 slices of black bread or dark wholemeal bread. Pluck 250 g smoked trout fillets into smaller pieces and spread on the bread. Garnish with cress as desired.
