Description

This homemade chicken broth is a staple in my kitchen! I've been making it for years, and it's so much better than anything you can buy in the store. The rich, savory flavor comes from slow-cooking the chicken with fresh vegetables and herbs. It's perfect as a base for soups, stews, or sauces, or even just to sip on a cold day. Plus, it's a great way to use up leftover chicken bones! This broth is naturally gluten-free and lactose-free, making it a healthy and versatile option for everyone.

Ingredients (9 ingredients)

  • 1 kg chicken
  • 1 piece carrot
  • 1 piece onion
  • 1 piece leek
  • 1 stick celery
  • 1 clove garlic clove
  • 1 bunch bouquet garni
  • 5 piece peppercorns
  • 1 clove clove

Preparation (6 steps)

Prepare the ingredients

Wash and roughly chop the carrot, onion, leek, and celery. Peel the garlic clove.

Combine ingredients in the Thermomix

Place the chicken, carrot, onion, leek, celery, garlic clove, bouquet garni, peppercorns, and clove into the Thermomix bowl.

Add water and cook

Add 1500ml of water to the Thermomix bowl. Cook for 60 Min./100°C/Stufe 1.

Continue cooking

30 min/203°F/Speed 1 95

Cook for another 30 Min./95°C/Stufe 1.

Strain the broth

Carefully strain the broth through a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth to remove the solids. Discard the solids.

Cool and store

Let the broth cool completely before storing it in airtight containers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or in the freezer for up to 3 months.
