Description

This cabbage salad with potato and mayonnaise is a traditional recipe that I have adapted to make it even easier with the Thermomix®. The combination of tender cabbage, soft potatoes and creamy mayonnaise is simply delicious. It is perfect to accompany any main course, from meats to fish, or even to enjoy it alone on a hot day. It is also an excellent option to take to picnics or barbecues. Go ahead and try this refreshing and nutritious salad! You can vary the amount of mayonnaise to your liking and add a touch of freshly ground black pepper to enhance the flavors.

Ingredients (6 ingredients)

  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 4 piece Potato
  • 4 piece Tomato
  • 2 piece Tender cabbage
  • 200 ml Vegetable oil
  • 1 piece Egg

Cabbage preparation

Cut the cabbage trunk and separate the leaves. Discard the hardest part of the center of the outer leaves. Cut everything into strips about a finger wide and reserve.

Cabbage cooking

Thermomix® Setting
30 min/Varoma/Speed 1 Varoma

Fill the Thermomix glass with 1000 ml of water and add the pinch of salt. Place the cut cabbage in the simmering basket. Insert the simmering basket into the glass and program 30 Min./Varoma/Stufe 1.

Potato cooking

Thermomix® Setting
25 min/Varoma/Speed 1 Varoma

While the cabbage is cooking, peel the potatoes and cut them into small cubes. Place the potatoes in the simmering basket. Empty the Thermomix glass and add 1000 ml of water. Insert the simmering basket with the potatoes and program 25 Min./Varoma/Stufe 1.

Mayonnaise preparation

Thermomix® Setting
30 sec/Speed 4

Place the egg in the Thermomix glass. Program 30 Sek./Stufe 4. With the Thermomix running at Stufe 4, slowly pour the vegetable oil over the lid so that it emulsifies. Adjust the amount of oil to taste to obtain the desired consistency.

Mixing ingredients

Once the cabbage and potatoes are cooked, remove the simmering basket and let both ingredients cool to room temperature. In a large bowl, mix the cabbage and cooked potatoes. Add the mayonnaise prepared in the Thermomix and stir gently until all ingredients are well integrated.

Serve and decorate

Serve the cabbage salad with cold mayonnaise. Garnish with slices of fresh tomato and a little more mayonnaise on top. Enjoy this delicious salad!
