Description

This chocolate cola cake is a real classic and super juicy! I've been making it since I was a kid and it's always a hit. The combination of chocolate and cola makes it particularly delicious and fluffy. Perfect for birthdays, parties or just with coffee. The cake is easy to prepare and tastes good both warm and cold. If you like it even more chocolatey, you can add chocolate chips to the batter. An absolute must for all chocolate lovers!

Ingredients (10 ingredients)

  • 220 g Butter
  • 5 piece Eggs (size M)
  • 200 g Powdered sugar
  • 2 Pck. Vanilla sugar
  • 300 ml Cola
  • 400 g Wheat flour Type 405
  • 3 tbsp Baking cocoa
  • 1 Pck. Baking powder
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 200 g Bittersweet chocolate

Preparation (9 steps)

Melt butter

Thermomix® Setting
3 min/122°F/Speed 1 50

Put 150 g butter into the mixing bowl and melt for 3 min./50°C/speed 1.

Preheat oven and prepare tray

Preheat the oven to 180 °C top and bottom heat. Line a deep baking tray with baking paper.

Beat eggs, sugar and vanilla sugar

5 min/Speed 4

Add eggs, powdered sugar and vanilla sugar to the mixing bowl and beat for 5 min./speed 4. Use a spatula to push the ingredients down from the edge.

Add melted butter and cola

Thermomix® Setting
20 sec/Speed 3

Add the melted butter and cola to the mixing bowl and stir in for 20 sec./speed 3.

Mix and add dry ingredients

30 sec/Speed 3

Mix flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt in a separate bowl. Add this mixture to the mixing bowl and stir in for 30 sec./speed 3. Use a spatula to push the ingredients down from the edge.

Bake dough

Spread the dough on the prepared baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for approx. 25 minutes. Perform a stick test.

Let cake cool

Remove the baked cake from the oven and let it cool completely.

Prepare chocolate glaze

Thermomix® Setting
3 min/122°F/Speed 2 50

Add chocolate and remaining butter (70 g) to the mixing bowl and melt for 3 min./50°C/speed 2.

Cover the cake with glaze

Spread the chocolate glaze on the cooled cake and let it harden.
