Description

These crispy cigar-shaped feta bites are an absolute hit at any party! I have been making them for years and they are always a hit. The combination of salty feta, roasted pine nuts and fresh thyme is simply irresistible. The preparation is very simple and thanks to the Thermomix® it is done in a flash. Perfect as a small snack in between or as a refined appetizer. They taste especially delicious warm, straight from the oven. If you like, you can drizzle some honey over it. A vegetarian dish that is simply fun!

Ingredients (7 ingredients)

  • 8 piece Brick sheet(s)
  • 180 g Feta
  • 3 c. à soupe Pine nut(s)
  • 5 brin Fresh thyme
  • 4 c. à soupe Olive oil
  • 10 g Butter
  • to taste Pepper

Preparation (7 steps)

Roast pine nuts

Thermomix® Setting
3 min/keine/Speed 1

Place the pine nuts in the mixing bowl and roast for 3 mins/none/speed 1. Then transfer and set aside.

Prepare feta

Thermomix® Setting
5 sec/Speed 4

Put the feta into the mixing bowl and chop for 5 sec/speed 4. Scrape down with the spatula.

Mix feta filling

Thermomix® Setting
10 sec/Linkslauf Speed 2 Reverse

Add the roasted pine nuts, thyme leaves, 2 tbsp olive oil and a pinch of pepper to the feta in the mixing bowl. Mix everything for 10 sec/reverse rotation speed 2.

Melt butter

Thermomix® Setting
2 min/122°F/Speed 1 50

Put the butter and the remaining 2 tbsp olive oil in the mixing bowl and melt for 2 min/50°C/speed 1.

Fill and roll cigars

Halve the puff pastry sheets. Place a tablespoon of the feta mixture on each half. Fold in the edges and roll into cigars.

Brush cigars

Brush the cigars with the melted butter-oil mixture and place on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.

Bake cigars

Bake the cigars in a preheated oven at 200°C (th.7) for 8 minutes, turning halfway through.
