Description

This cherry cake with chocolate shavings and creamy cream-sour cream topping is a delicious dessert for special occasions. The combination of juicy cherries, chocolatey dough and a light cream makes this cake a true delight. Preparation takes about 50 minutes and the recipe is suitable for a larger group.   • 180 g Flour
  • 0.5 Päckchen Baking powder
  • 50 g Cornstarch
  • 160 g Sugar
  • 160 g Oil
  • 4 Stück Eggs
  • 20 g Baking cocoa
  • 100 g Chocolate shavings
  • 2 Gläser Sour cherries
  • 400 g Cream
  • 600 g Sour cream
  • 40 g Sugar
  • 1 Päckchen Vanilla sugar
  • 4 Päckchen Cream stiffener

Preparation (11 steps)

Prepare dough

Thermomix® Setting
20 sec/Speed 4

Put 180 g flour, 0.5 packets baking powder, 50 g cornstarch, 160 g sugar, 160 g oil and 4 eggs into the mixing bowl and mix for 20 sec./level 4.

Add cocoa and chocolate shavings

10 sec/Speed 3

Add 20 g baking cocoa and 100 g chocolate shavings to the dough in the mixing bowl and stir in for 10 sec./level 3.

Spread dough on baking sheet

Place the dough on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and spread evenly.

Place cherries on top

Drain 2 jars of sour cherries and spread on the dough.

Bake cake

Bake the cake in a preheated oven at 180°C top/bottom heat for about 20 minutes.

Let cake cool

After baking, remove the cake from the oven and let it cool completely.

Whip cream

Thermomix® Setting

Put 400 g cream and 2 packets of cream stiffener into the mixing bowl. Insert the butterfly and whip until stiff for 2 min./level 3.5. Transfer.

Prepare sour cream

Thermomix® Setting
20 sec/Speed 3

Put 600 g sour cream, 40 g sugar and 1 packet of vanilla sugar and 2 packets of cream stiffener into the mixing bowl and stir for 20 sec./level 3.

Fold in cream

Carefully fold the whipped cream into the sour cream.

Spread cream on cake

Spread the cream on the cooled cake.

Prepare cake glaze (optional)

Optional: Prepare a cake glaze from cherry juice and cake glaze according to the package instructions and spread on the cream.
