Description

This lasagna is a true classic and tastes great to the whole family! I have been making it for years and it is always a hit. The secret lies in the aromatic Bolognese sauce, which is allowed to simmer for a long time, and the creamy béchamel sauce. With the lasagna sheets and cheese, this creates a wonderfully hearty dish that is perfect for cold days. If you like, you can add some vegetables such as zucchini or eggplant to the sauce. An absolute must for lovers of Italian cuisine!

About this recipe

Lasagna, a dish that awakens childhood memories for me. My grandma always made it on Sundays, and the scent that wafted through the house was simply indescribable. Her recipe was of course a closely guarded family secret, but I have tried to recreate it as best as possible, and this recipe here comes very close to the original. The heart of this lasagna is undoubtedly the Bolognese sauce. The mixed ground meat provides a strong base, while the tomato paste adds a slight sweetness and depth. The peeled tomatoes, preferably canned, give the sauce its fruity note and the necessary liquid. The spice salt for lasagna is of course a matter of taste, but I think it perfectly combines the typical flavors such as oregano, basil and garlic. A dash of red wine rounds off the whole thing and gives the sauce an elegant note. It evaporates during simmering, but leaves a fine aroma. The preparation in the Thermomix® is very simple. First, brown the ground meat in a pan to create roasted aromas - this is important for the taste! Then everything goes into the mixing bowl, and the Thermomix® does the rest. The long simmering time at a low temperature ensures that the aromas combine optimally and the sauce becomes nice and creamy. While the Bolognese sauce is simmering, you can take care of the béchamel sauce. Butter and flour are stirred into a roux in the Thermomix®, then the milk is added. It is important to keep the temperature and stirring speed exactly so that the sauce does not burn or clump. Season with salt, pepper and nutmeg - nutmeg is a must here! For a vegetarian version, you can replace the ground meat with soy granules or lentils. Vegetables such as zucchini, eggplant or peppers also go perfectly in the Bolognese sauce. If you like it a little spicier, you can add a pinch of chili powder. The lasagna is best served with a fresh salad and a crusty baguette. A glass of red wine also goes perfectly with it. Leftovers of the lasagna can be easily stored in the refrigerator and warmed up the next day. It tastes almost even better when it has been infused! You can also prepare the lasagna well in advance and bake it just before serving. This gives you more time for other things.
