Description

This chicken dish scented with lemon and olives is a true Mediterranean delight. The combination of tender chicken, green olives and candied lemon creates an explosion of flavors in the mouth. A pinch of ground ginger and saffron adds a warm and spicy touch. This tagine is perfect for a friendly meal with family or friends, and it is particularly tasty served with couscous semolina or rice. A comforting and easy to prepare dish, ideal for autumn or winter evenings.

Ingredients (12 ingredients)

  • Chicken
  • 2 piece Onion
  • 4 clove Garlic
  • 100 g Green olives
  • 1 piece Candied lemon
  • 50 cl Water
  • 1 pinch Ground ginger
  • 1 pinch Saffron
  • 1 bouquet Fresh coriander
  • 1 c. à soupe Olive oil
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Preparation (5 steps)

Chopped garlic and onion

Put 2 onions cut into quarters in the bowl and chop for 5 Sek./Stufe 5. Scrape the sides of the bowl with the spatula.

Sautéed garlic and onion

Add 1 tbsp of olive oil and 4 cloves of garlic to the bowl. Sauté for 3 Min./120°C/Stufe 1.

Golden chicken

Remove the garlic and onion mixture from the bowl and set aside. In a casserole dish or frying pan, brown the pieces of chicken on all sides with a little olive oil. Salt and pepper.

Simmered tagine

25 min/212°F/Speed 1/Linkslauf 100 Reverse

Put the garlic and onion mixture back in the bowl. Add the browned chicken, 50 cl of water, 1 pinch of ground ginger, 1 pinch of saffron, 100 g of pitted and halved green olives, and 1 candied lemon cut into strips. Salt and pepper. Cook for 25 Min./100°C/Stufe 1/Linkslauf.

Finish and serve

Check the seasoning and adjust if necessary. Serve the tagine sprinkled with chopped fresh coriander.
