Description

This oven rice with chickpeas and serrano ham is a traditional Spanish dish, perfect for cold days. The combination of rice with cooked chickpeas, red pepper, leek, onion, and serrano ham creates a delicious and comforting flavor. It is a very easy dish to prepare and can be adapted to everyone's tastes. I often prepare it in winter, and it is always a success! In addition, it is a very economical and nutritious recipe, ideal for the whole family. It can be served as a single dish or as an accompaniment to meat or fish.

Ingredients (8 ingredients)

  • 1 container rice
  • 0.5 can cooked chickpeas
  • 1 piece red pepper
  • 1 piece leek
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 0.5 piece onion
  • 1 cube serrano ham
  • 1 pinch Spices

Preparation (5 steps)

Preparation of the chickpeas

In a bowl, mix 1/2 can of cooked and drained chickpeas with a pinch of salt, oregano, paprika, ground pepper, minced garlic and a splash of oil and white wine. Reserve.

Preheat the oven

Preheat the oven to 180°C.

Chop the vegetables

Introduce 1 red pepper, 1 leek, 1/2 onion and 1 clove of garlic into the Thermomix glass. Program 3 seconds/speed 5.

Add the ham

2 Seg./Speed 4

Add 1 piece of serrano ham to the Thermomix glass. Program 2 seconds/speed 4.

Mix and bake

Pour the mixture from the glass into an oven-safe container. Add 1 glass of rice and 2 glasses of water or broth. Add salt and pepper and mix well. Bake at 180 degrees for 20-25 minutes or until the liquid is consumed.
