Description

This recipe for steamed Brussels sprouts is a hearty and simple dish, ideal as a side dish or main course. Steamed with bacon and onions and refined in cream, it is ready in about 30 minutes. Perfect for the winter time and suitable as a seasonal vegetable dish. The recipe is designed for 4 servings.

Ingredients (9 ingredients)

  • 750 g Brussels sprouts
  • 1 piece Onion
  • 100 g Bacon
  • 1 tbsp Oil
  • 100 ml Vegetable broth
  • 50 ml Cream
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 1 pinch Pepper
  • 1 pinch Nutmeg

Preparation (6 steps)

Prepare onion and bacon

Peel and halve 1 onion. Cut 100g bacon into cubes.

Chop onion

Put the halved onions into the mixing bowl and chop for 3 sec./level 5.

Sauté bacon and onion

Add 1 tbsp oil and the 100g bacon cubes to the chopped onions in the mixing bowl and sauté for 3 min./120°C/level 1.

Prepare Brussels sprouts

Clean 750g Brussels sprouts, remove outer leaves and halve.

Add Brussels sprouts and steam

Add the halved Brussels sprouts, 100 ml vegetable broth, 1 pinch salt, 1 pinch pepper and 1 pinch nutmeg to the bacon cubes and onions in the mixing bowl and steam for 15 min./100°C/reverse rotation level 1.

Add cream and finish cooking

Add 50 ml cream and cook for another 5 min./90°C/reverse rotation level 1.
