Description

This hearty salad with beef and avocado is an absolute highlight! The tender beef sirloin steak, marinated with a fiery spice blend, harmonizes perfectly with the fresh romaine lettuce, creamy avocado and spicy cheddar. The dressing made from coriander, lime and yogurt gives the salad a special touch. The tortilla chips provide the extra crunch. A great dish for a light lunch or as an appetizer for grilling. It can also be prepared well, so that it can be served quickly.

Ingredients (20 ingredients)

  • 0.5 piece Avocado(s)
  • 5 Stiel Coriander, chopped
  • 0.5 piece Lime(s), juice of
  • 60 g Yogurt, Greek
  • 120 ml Water
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 0.5 clove Garlic, pressed
  • 0.5 tsp Ground cumin
  • 1 piece Steak(s) (beef sirloin steak) à 200 g
  • 1.5 tsp Paprika powder, hot smoked
  • 0.5 tsp Cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp Cumin
  • 0.5 tsp Salt
  • 1 Kopf Romaine lettuce
  • 100 g Cheddar cheese, diced
  • 0.5 can Beans, black, approx. 200 g drained weight
  • 1.5 piece Avocado(s), diced
  • 1 can Corn, 140 g drained weight
  • 120 g Cherry tomato(es), quartered
  • 50 g Tortilla chips, lightly crumbled

Preparation (6 steps)

Prepare spice mix and marinate steak

Mix 1.5 tsp paprika powder, 1 tsp cumin and 0.5 tsp cayenne pepper in a small bowl. Pat the steak dry and rub with the spices.

Fry steak

Heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan and fry the steak over high heat for about 8 - 10 minutes on both sides. Turn 1 - 2 times.

Let steak rest and cut

Let rest wrapped in aluminum foil. After about 10 minutes, cut the steak into strips.

Chop garlic

Put 0.5 clove of garlic in the mixing bowl and chop for 3 seconds/speed 7.

Prepare dressing

20 sec/Speed 8

Add coriander, lime juice, yogurt, water, 0.5 tsp salt, 0.5 tsp cumin and the flesh of ½ avocado to the mixing bowl and purée for 20 seconds/speed 8. Then transfer and set aside.

Arrange salad

Clean, wash and spin dry the lettuce. Distribute in a salad bowl or two deep plates. Arrange diced cheddar, black beans, corn, quartered cherry tomatoes and diced avocado on the salad. Add the steak strips. Distribute the dressing on the salad and crumble the tortilla chips over it.
