Description

These savory tuna turnovers are a real hit at any party! I always like to make them because they are so easy and quick to prepare. The filling of tuna, bell pepper, onion and parsley is super tasty and the turnovers are perfect for dipping in chili sauce. They are ideal as finger food for birthdays, barbecues or simply as a snack in between. The preparation with the Thermomix® is very easy and saves time. Try it out, you will be thrilled!

Ingredients (11 ingredients)

  • 1 piece Pointed bell pepper (small)
  • 1 piece Red onion
  • 0.5 bunch Parsley
  • 1 can Tuna (in brine, 140 g drained weight)
  • 50 ml Olive oil
  • 0.5 tsp Lemon zest (grated)
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper
  • 1 Rolle Pizza dough (XXL 550 g)
  • 1 piece Egg (size M)
  • 150 ml Chili sauce

Preparation (6 steps)

1

Prepare vegetables

Wash, core and cut the bell pepper into very small cubes. Peel and finely dice the onion. Wash the parsley, shake dry and finely chop the leaves. Drain the tuna and place in a bowl.

2

Prepare tuna mixture

Add the prepared vegetable cubes, parsley, 50 ml olive oil and 0.5 teaspoon grated lemon zest to the drained tuna in the bowl. Season with salt and pepper and mix well.

3

Shape turnovers

Preheat the oven to 200 °C top/bottom heat. Roll out the pizza dough on the work surface and let it temper for 10 minutes, then cut out 12 squares (approx. 10 cm) from the dough. Whisk the egg and 3 tablespoons of water in a small bowl.

4

Fill and seal turnovers

Brush the edges of the dough with some egg mixture and spread 1-2 tablespoons of tuna filling on the middle of the dough. Fold the dough into a triangle and press the edges firmly together with a fork.

5

Bake turnovers

Distribute the turnovers on 1-2 baking sheets lined with baking paper. Brush the turnovers with the remaining egg mixture. Bake in the preheated oven for approx. 20 minutes until golden brown.

6

Arrange and serve

Remove the baked turnovers from the oven and let them cool slightly. Arrange and serve with chili sauce for dipping.
