Description

This Stollen curd dessert is a wonderful way to use up leftover stollen after the holidays. The stollen is cut into cubes, soaked in coffee and rum, and then mixed with a creamy curd-orange cream. It is a simple but festive dessert that can be prepared well in advance and is perfect for a cozy get-together with friends and family. The cinnamon sugar provides the finishing touch and makes this dessert a real treat. Simply tastes delicious!

Ingredients (9 ingredients)

  • 450 g Stollen without marzipan center
  • 120 ml Coffee cold, strong
  • 5 cl Rum
  • 300 g Low-fat curd
  • 2 tbsp Honey
  • 2 piece Organic orange(s)
  • 350 ml Cream
  • 5 tbsp Sugar
  • 1 tbsp Cinnamon sugar

Preparation (8 steps)

Prepare stollen

Cut the stollen without marzipan center into approx. 1.5 cm cubes and place in a bowl. Mix cold, strong coffee and rum in a separate bowl.

Make orange zest

Grate the peel of two organic oranges and set aside. Squeeze one orange.

Whip the cream until stiff

Pour 350 ml cream into the mixing bowl and whisk with the butterfly 2 min./speed 3.5 until stiff. Transfer and chill.

Prepare curd cream

Thermomix® Setting

Put 300 g low-fat curd, 2 tbsp honey, 5 tbsp sugar, the juice of one orange and the zest of the orange peel in the mixing bowl and mix for 20 sec./speed 3.

Fold in the cream

Carefully fold the whipped cream into the curd cream with a spatula.

Soak stollen

Carefully drizzle the coffee-rum mixture over the stollen cubes and let it soak for a short time.

Layer dessert

Place half of the soaked stollen cubes in a bowl or serving glasses. Spread half of the curd cream on top. Add the remaining stollen cubes and cover with the remaining curd cream.

Chill and serve

Refrigerate the dessert for at least 30 minutes. Sprinkle with 1 tbsp cinnamon sugar before serving.
