  • 1 piece Medium potato
  • 1 pinch Oregano
  • 1 pinch Salt

Preparation (6 steps)

Cut the potatoes into thin slices

Wash and peel 1 medium potato. Use a mandolin or a sharp knife to cut the potato into very thin, almost transparent slices. This step is crucial to obtain crunchy chips.

Soak the potato slices

Place the potato slices in a bowl with cold water for 10-15 minutes to remove the starch. This step helps the slices remain firm during cooking.

Dry the potato slices

Drain the potato slices well and dry them completely with a clean cloth. Place the slices between two layers of cloth and gently press to absorb the excess water. This step is important so that the chips are crunchy.

Prepare the potatoes for the microwave

Place two sheets of kitchen paper towel on a microwave-safe plate. Arrange a layer of potato slices on the paper, making sure they do not overlap. Sprinkle a pinch of salt and oregano to taste over the slices.

Cook the potatoes in the microwave (first part)

Place the plate in the microwave and heat at maximum power for 3 minutes. Watch that they do not burn. Carefully remove the plate from the microwave (it will be hot).

Turn the potatoes over and continue cooking

Turn the potato slices over. If the paper is wet, replace it with a dry one. Put the potatoes back in the microwave at maximum power for 1-2 minutes, watching that they do not burn. Repeat this process until all the potato slices are finished.
