Description

These two-tone swirl cookies from the Thermomix® are an ideal treat for the Christmas season. With vanilla, butter, sugar, flour, and cocoa, you can make approximately 60 cookies. The preparation time is about 130 minutes, of which 45 minutes is active work. The recipe is perfect as finger food or dessert for festive occasions and families.

Ingredients (11 ingredients)

  • 1 Stück Vanilla bean
  • 125 g Soft butter
  • 150 g Sugar
  • 1 Prise Salt
  • 250 g Wheat flour Type 405
  • 1 TL Baking powder
  • 1 Stück Egg (room temperature)
  • 2 EL Baking cocoa
  • 1 EL Milk
  • Flour for the work surface
  • 1 Stück Egg white

Preparation (9 steps)

Extract vanilla pulp

Cut the vanilla bean lengthwise and scrape out the pulp with a knife. Set the vanilla pulp aside.

Mix butter, sugar, salt and vanilla pulp until creamy

Put 125 g soft butter, 150 g sugar, 1 pinch of salt and the vanilla pulp into the mixing bowl and mix for 2 min./speed 3 until creamy.

Add flour, baking powder and egg and knead

Add 250 g wheat flour Type 405 and 1 tsp baking powder to the mixing bowl. Add 1 egg (room temperature) and knead for 2 min./kneading stage to form a dough.

Divide dough and add cocoa

Remove the dough from the mixing bowl and cut in half. Put 2 tbsp baking cocoa and 1 tbsp milk in a small bowl and stir. Add the cocoa-milk mixture to one half of the dough and knead well with your hands until a uniformly dark dough is formed.

Chill dough

Form both the light and dark dough into a ball, wrap separately in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes to 45 minutes.

Roll out and brush dough

Roll out both doughs to about the same size. One dough on a floured work surface, the other best on floured baking paper. Brush the dough rolled out on the work surface with 1 egg white, place the other dough on top and then roll up tightly from one side.

Chill dough roll

Place the dough roll in the refrigerator again for 30 minutes.

Preheat oven

Preheat the oven to 175 °C convection.

Bake cookies

Cut the dough into narrow strips (approx. 0.5 cm) and place on a baking sheet lined with baking paper, leaving some space between them. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes.
