Delicious American-style chocolate nut cookies, quick and easy to make.

Ingredients (9 ingredients)

  • 280 g Flour
  • 250 g Butter
  • 100 g Brown sugar
  • 130 g Sugar
  • 2 Egg(s)
  • 1 TL Baking soda
  • 0.5 TL Salt
  • 1 Pck. Vanilla sugar
  • 200 g Chocolate of your choice, roughly chopped or nuts

Preparation (8 steps)

Beat butter and sugar until fluffy

Put 250 g butter, 100 g brown sugar, 130 g sugar and 0.5 tsp salt into the mixing bowl and beat until fluffy for 2 min./speed 4.

Add eggs and vanilla sugar

Add 2 eggs and 1 packet vanilla sugar and stir in for 30 sec./speed 3 until creamy.

Mix flour and baking soda

Set aside some of the 280 g flour and mix with 1 tsp baking soda. Set aside.

Stir in flour

Add the remaining flour spoonful by spoonful to the mixing bowl and stir in for 30 sec./speed 3. Use a spatula to loosen everything from the edge.

Stir in flour-baking soda mixture

Add the flour-baking soda mixture to the mixing bowl and stir in for 30 sec./speed 3. The dough is comparatively firm and tough. Use a spatula to loosen everything from the edge.

Stir in chocolate and nuts

Add 200 g roughly chopped chocolate and nuts of your choice to the mixing bowl and stir in for 20 sec./reverse rotation speed 2. Use a spatula to loosen everything from the edge.

Shape and bake cookies

Place the dough spoonful by spoonful on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Leave plenty of space! The cookies spread out a lot. Maximum 8 cookies per sheet. Bake in a preheated oven at 190 °C convection for approx. 8 - 9 minutes. Important: Depending on the oven, the cookies will be ready a little earlier or later. They are perfect when the edges are very lightly brown and the cookies still look moist in the center.

Let cookies cool

Remove the cookies from the oven immediately and carefully, they are very fragile, and place them on a plate or similar to cool. Do not leave on the hot baking sheet! They will then harden as they cool, but remain nice and tender inside. If they have become crispy, they were in the oven for too long! Best stored chilled in a tin. They last about 4 days.
