Description

This watermelon and feta salad with a hint of chili is a refreshing treat for hot days! I especially like to make it when I have guests because it's super quick to prepare and tastes simply delicious. The sweetness of the watermelon harmonizes perfectly with the salty feta and the slight spiciness of the chili. A splash of lime rounds it all off. Perfect as an appetizer or light snack for the summer! And the best part: It's vegetarian and gluten-free.

Ingredients (8 ingredients)

  • 500 g Watermelon (seedless)
  • 1 mild green chili (e.g. Anaheim)
  • 1 Organic lime
  • Salt
  • freshly ground black pepper
  • Sugar
  • 2 EL Olive oil
  • 100 g creamy Feta

Preparation (6 steps)

Prepare chili

Seed and roughly chop the mild green chili. Wash the lime with hot water, grate the zest and squeeze the juice.

Chop chili

Place the chopped chili in the mixing bowl and chop for 3 sec./speed 7. Scrape down the sides with the spatula.

Prepare dressing

10 sec/Speed 3

Add lime juice, lime zest, olive oil, salt, pepper and a pinch of sugar to the mixing bowl and mix for 10 sec./speed 3.

Prepare melon and feta

Cut the watermelon into bite-sized cubes. Cube the feta as well.

Mix salad

Place the watermelon cubes and feta in a bowl. Pour the dressing from the mixing bowl over it and mix carefully.

Serve

Serve the salad immediately or refrigerate until ready to serve.
