Description

This Korean Ground Beef Rice Bowl is a flavorful and satisfying meal that's incredibly easy to make. I've been making this dish for my family for years, and it's always a hit! Ingredients (10 ingredients)

  • 450 g lean ground beef
  • 5 clove garlic, crushed
  • 1 tbsp freshly grated ginger
  • 2 tsp toasted sesame oil
  • 0.5 cup reduced-sodium soy sauce
  • 0.33333333333333 cup light brown sugar
  • 0.25 tsp crushed red pepper
  • 6 piece green onions, chopped, divided
  • 4 cup hot cooked brown rice
  • 1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds

Prepare Garlic and Ginger

Add 5 cloves of garlic to the mixing bowl and chop for 3 seconds on speed 7. Add 1 tablespoon of freshly grated ginger to the mixing bowl and chop for 3 seconds on speed 7.

Cook Ground Beef

Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add 1 pound of lean ground beef and cook, stirring and crumbling into small pieces until browned, 5 to 7 minutes. Drain excess grease.

Add Aromatics

Stir the chopped garlic and ginger, and 2 teaspoons of toasted sesame oil into the cooked ground beef in the skillet. Cook until fragrant, about 2 minutes.

Simmer in Sauce

Stir in ½ cup of reduced-sodium soy sauce, ⅓ cup of light brown sugar, and ¼ teaspoon of crushed red pepper into the ground beef mixture. Cook until beef absorbs some sauce, about 7 minutes.

Incorporate Green Onions

Add 3 chopped green onions to the ground beef mixture and stir to combine.

Serve

Serve the Korean ground beef over 4 cups of hot cooked brown rice. Garnish with 1 tablespoon of toasted sesame seeds and the remaining 3 chopped green onions.
