Description

This Portuguese-style piri-piri chicken is an explosion of flavour that will transport you directly to the coasts of Portugal. The key is in the marinade, a vibrant mixture of spices and lemon juice that permeates the chicken with an irresistible aroma. I prepare it by macerating the chicken for at least 24 hours, but if you have more time, even better! The result is a juicy, tender chicken with a spicy touch that makes it perfect for a festive meal or a special dinner. Ideal for lovers of intense flavours and authentic culinary experiences. Go ahead and try it!

Ingredients (9 ingredients)

  • 1 piece Poussin (small portion chickens)
  • 1 tsp Granulated garlic
  • 1 tsp Sweet paprika
  • 2 tsp Ground chilli
  • 1 tsp Ground ginger
  • 2 tbsp Extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 piece Lemon juice
  • 2 tsp Salt
  • 2 tsp Dried oregano

Preparation of the marinade

Thermomix® Setting
20 sec/Speed 4

In the Thermomix bowl, add 1 tsp of granulated garlic, 1 tsp of sweet paprika, 2 tsp of ground chilli, 1 tsp of ground ginger, 2 tbsp of extra virgin olive oil, the juice of 1 lemon, 2 tsp of salt and 2 tsp of dried oregano. Mix everything for 20 sec./Stufe 4.

Marinating the chicken

With the marinade obtained, massage 1 small chicken (poussin) well inside and out. Make sure all parts of the chicken are well covered. Place the chicken in an airtight container and refrigerate for at least 24 hours.

Baking the chicken

Preheat the oven to 230°C. Place the chicken on a rack and bake for 15-17 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through. Cooking time may vary depending on the size of the chicken and the power of the oven.
