Description

With the Thermomix®, these twisted sugar pastry sticks are ready in no time. The recipe for approx. 40 servings mainly uses sugar, butter, flour, egg and vanilla sugar. The preparation time is a total of 120 minutes, of which 45 minutes are active working time. Ideal as Christmas finger food or festive dessert. Perfect for the winter season and baking with the family.

Ingredients (7 ingredients)

  • 125 g Sugar
  • 125 g Butter
  • 300 g Wheat flour Type 405
  • 1 Egg (room temperature)
  • 1 Pck. Vanilla sugar
  • 1 Prise(n) Salt
  • red food coloring

Preparation (8 steps)

Prepare dough

Add 125 g sugar, 125 g butter, 300 g wheat flour type 405, 1 egg (room temperature), 1 packet of vanilla sugar and 1 pinch of salt to the mixing bowl.

Knead dough

Knead all ingredients for 2 min./kneading stage to form a smooth dough.

Divide and color dough

Halve the dough. Place one half of the dough in a separate bowl and add a few drops of red food coloring. Knead the food coloring with your hands until the dough is evenly colored.

Chill dough

Wrap both doughs in cling film and let them rest in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.

Preheat oven

Preheat the oven to 180 °C convection oven. Place baking paper on a baking sheet.

Shape dough

Remove the doughs from the refrigerator and roll 20 snakes each from both doughs. Twist 1 white and 1 red snake around each other and roll carefully again so that the strands connect. Cut off approx. 10 cm long sticks and shape into candy canes.

Baking

Place the shaped candy canes on the baking sheet lined with baking paper and bake for approx. 8 minutes.

Let cool

Let the baked candy canes cool on a wire rack and store airtight until ready to eat.
