Description

This juicy mulled wine cake is a Christmas baking recipe that is easy to prepare with the Thermomix®. The cake consists of butter, sugar, eggs, flour, cocoa, and mulled wine, which gives it a festive aroma. After baking, the cake is covered with a delicious mulled wine glaze. Ideal for Advent and as a sweet treat with coffee.

Ingredients (13 ingredients)

  • 250 g soft butter
  • 180 g sugar
  • 1 Pck. vanilla sugar
  • 1 Prise salt
  • 4 Stück eggs
  • 250 g flour
  • 2 EL baking cocoa
  • 1 Pck. baking powder
  • 200 ml mulled wine
  • 200 g chocolate shavings
  • butter for the pan
  • 200 g powdered sugar
  • 3 EL mulled wine

Beat butter, sugar, vanilla sugar, and salt until fluffy

Put 250 g soft butter, 180 g sugar, 1 packet of vanilla sugar, and 1 pinch of salt into the mixing bowl and beat until fluffy for 3 min./level 4.

Stir in eggs

Add 4 eggs and stir in for 1 min./level 3.

Mix flour, baking cocoa, and baking powder

Mix 250 g flour, 2 tbsp baking cocoa, and 1 packet of baking powder in a separate bowl.

Stir in mulled wine and flour mixture

Alternately add 200 ml mulled wine (or red wine) and the flour mixture to the mixing bowl and stir in for 2 min./level 3. Use a spatula to scrape the ingredients down from the edge.

Fold in chocolate shavings

Thermomix® Setting

Add 200 g chocolate shavings and fold in for 30 sec./reverse/level 2. Use a spatula to scrape the ingredients down from the edge.

Pour batter into the pan and bake

Pour the batter into a greased bundt cake pan (Ø 22 cm), smooth it out, and bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees (fan oven: 160 degrees) for approx. 45 min.

Let the cake cool

Let the cake cool completely (approx. 120 min.).

Prepare glaze

Thermomix® Setting
20 sec/Speed 3

Put 200 g powdered sugar and 3 tbsp mulled wine (or red wine) into the mixing bowl and mix for 20 sec./level 3.

Cover the cake with glaze

Turn the bundt cake out onto a wire rack and turn it once so that the narrow part of the cake points upwards. Pour the glaze over the cake and let it set for approx. 30 min.
