Description

This fruity morning bowl is an absolute blast for an energetic start to the day! I love how quickly it is prepared and how wonderfully the combination of mango, apple, strawberries and banana tastes. The low-fat quark provides an extra portion of protein, while the oatmeal and flaxseed provide a great texture and valuable fiber. Perfect for anyone looking for a healthy and delicious breakfast that's ready in no time. Vary the fruit depending on the season – in autumn it also tastes great with pears and plums!

About this recipe

This fruity morning bowl is more than just a quick breakfast for me; it's a small tribute to my travels through Southeast Asia. There I got to know and love the variety and freshness of tropical fruits. The combination of sweet, sour and creamy elements immediately inspired me, and I tried to translate these flavors into an everyday recipe. The result is this bowl, which reminds me of sunny beaches and exotic markets every morning. The ingredients are deliberately chosen to offer a balanced taste experience. The mango contributes an intense sweetness and a slightly resinous note, while the apple provides a pleasant acidity and a crunchy bite. Strawberries bring a fruity freshness and a bright color into play, and the banana provides a creamy texture and a natural sweetness that holds the bowl together. The low-fat quark is not only a source of protein, but also an important flavor carrier that balances the sweetness of the fruits and gives the bowl a creamy consistency. The sparkling mineral water loosens the quark and gives the bowl a light, sparkling freshness. Oatmeal and flaxseed provide fiber that satiates and promotes digestion, and provide a pleasant texture that gives the bowl a certain bite. The preparation in the Thermomix® is very simple. First prepare the fruit as described in the recipe. Then, instead of mixing everything in a bowl, I recommend briefly mixing the fruit in the Thermomix®. To do this, add mango, apple, strawberries and banana to the mixing bowl and chop for 3 seconds on speed 5. The result should be a slightly chunky, but still creamy mass. Then add the low-fat quark and mineral water and stir for 5 seconds on speed 3. Finally, fold in the oatmeal and flaxseed. This makes the bowl particularly creamy and the flavors combine perfectly. For a vegan version, the low-fat quark can be replaced with soy yogurt or another plant-based yogurt alternative. If you like it a little spicier, you can add a pinch of cinnamon or cardamom. A touch of grated lemon or orange zest also goes perfectly with the fruits. The bowl tastes best when freshly prepared. If you want to make it last a little longer, you can store it in the refrigerator, but keep in mind that the oatmeal and flaxseed will swell over time and change the consistency of the bowl. Nuts, seeds or a spoonful of honey are suitable as a side dish. A few fresh mint leaves or a dab of coconut flakes also make the bowl a special treat. For an even richer version, you can also stir in some nut puree (e.g. almond or cashew puree). The bowl is also ideal as a base for a parfait. Simply layer bowl and yogurt alternately in a glass and garnish with nuts and fruit.
