Description

These sage lozenges are ideal for sore throats and congested coughs. With birch sugar, sage, thyme and lemon, they are easy to make. Preparation takes about 20 minutes, curing time is 2 hours. The recipe is easy and suitable for anyone who wants to make natural cough drops.

Ingredients (4 ingredients)

  • 250 g Birch sugar
  • 3 EL dried sage
  • 3 EL dried thyme
  • 1 EL Juice of a lemon

Preparation (5 steps)

Pulverize sage and thyme

Put 3 tbsp of dried sage and 3 tbsp of dried thyme into the mixing bowl and pulverize for 10 sec./level 10. Then strain through a sieve and set aside.

Melt sugar

Put 250 g birch sugar into the mixing bowl and melt for 10 min./120°C/level 1 without a measuring cup until the sugar is liquid and transparent.

Stir in herbs and lemon juice

Add the powdered herbs and 1 tbsp juice of a lemon and stir in for 10 sec./level 3 reverse.

Let it bubble up

Bring the mixture to a boil again for 2 min./100°C/level 1.

Fill molds and let harden

Fill the still liquid herb sugar into molds. Sprinkle with some sugar. Let harden at room temperature for about 2 hours, then press out of the molds and store in jars.
