Description

I love preparing this chow mein with chicken and vegetables! It is a dish that I often make when I have little time but I want something tasty and nutritious. The chicken, cut into bite-sized pieces, goes perfectly with the crunchy vegetables and the flavorful sauce. The preparation is really simple and quick, perfect for a family dinner or an evening with friends. You can vary the vegetables depending on the season and your tastes, adding for example broccoli or peas. A tip? Serve it hot with a sprinkling of sesame seeds!

Ingredients (13 ingredients)

  • 4 piece Chow mein Chinese noodles
  • 500 g Chicken breast
  • 2 piece Carrots
  • 1 piece Peppers
  • 200 g Mushrooms
  • 0.25 piece Cabbage
  • 2 cm Ginger
  • 2 tbsp Cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp Oyster sauce
  • 2 tbsp Chinese rice wine
  • 4 tbsp Seed oil
  • 2 clove Garlic
  • 2 tbsp Soy sauce

Preparation (8 steps)

Noodle preparation

Bring water to a boil in a pot. Cook the chow mein Chinese noodles for about 3 minutes, without salt. Drain them and run them under cold water to stop cooking. Set aside.

Chicken preparation

Cut the chicken breast into small bite-sized pieces. In a bowl, mix the chicken pieces with 1 tablespoon of cornstarch and 1 tablespoon of seed oil. Mix well and set aside.

Chop garlic and ginger

Insert 2 cloves of garlic and a piece of fresh ginger (about 2 cm) into the bowl. Chop finely: 3 Sec./Stufe 7.

Sauté garlic and ginger

Add 2 tablespoons of seed oil to the bowl. Sauté: 3 Min./120°C/Stufe 1.

Brown the chicken

Transfer the sautéed mixture to a pan. Add the chicken and brown over medium-high heat until golden brown. Set aside.

Sauté the vegetables

3 min/Varoma/Speed 1 Varoma

Cut the carrots, peppers, mushrooms and cabbage into thin strips. Put the vegetables in the bowl with another dash of seed oil. Sauté: 3 Min./Varoma/Stufe 1.

Add seasoning and noodles

2 min/194°F/Linkslauf Speed 2 90 Reverse

Add 2 tablespoons of oyster sauce and 2 tablespoons of soy sauce to the bowl. Combine the chow mein Chinese noodles. Mix: 2 Min./90°C/Linkslauf Stufe 2.

Combine the chicken and flavor

Add the browned chicken to the bowl. Flavour: 1 Min./90°C/Linkslauf Stufe 2.
