Description

Twisted Christmas cookies are a festive finger food dessert that is easy to prepare with the Thermomix®. The main ingredients are margarine, egg, powdered sugar, flour and red berry pudding powder. The total preparation time is 105 minutes, of which 30 minutes is active working time. This recipe yields approximately 24 cookies and is perfect for the Christmas coffee table or as a sweet treat for the whole family.

Ingredients (9 ingredients)

  • 125 g Margarine (at room temperature)
  • 1 Egg
  • 125 g Powdered sugar
  • 1 Päckchen Vanilla sugar
  • 1 Prise Iodized salt
  • 300 g Flour
  • 1 Päckchen Red berry pudding powder
  • Plastic wrap
  • Baking paper

Preparation (7 steps)

Mix ingredients

Place 125 g of room temperature margarine, 1 egg, 125 g of powdered sugar, 1 packet of vanilla sugar and 1 pinch of iodized salt into the mixing bowl and mix for 30 sec/speed 4.

Knead the dough

Thermomix® Setting
2 min/keine/Kneading speed

Add 300 g of flour and knead for 2 min/knead setting to form a smooth dough.

Divide and color the dough

Remove the dough from the mixing bowl and cut in half. Knead one half with 1 packet of red berry pudding powder until it is evenly distributed. Perform this step outside of the Thermomix.

Chill the dough

Wrap both dough balls in plastic wrap and chill for 1 hour.

Preheat oven

Preheat the oven to 180 °C (convection: 160 °C). Line baking sheets with baking paper. This step is performed outside of the Thermomix.

Shape candy canes

For each candy cane, take a walnut-sized portion of both doughs and form into short, thumb-thick rolls. Place the rolls next to each other and twist them together in a rolling motion. Bend one end into a candy cane shape. Perform this step outside of the Thermomix.

Bake candy canes

Bake the candy canes in the preheated oven for about 15 minutes. Let cool on the baking sheet. This step is performed outside of the Thermomix.
