Description

This gratinated noodle casserole with tomato and mozzarella, prepared in the Thermomix®, is a vegetarian main course of Italian cuisine. The main ingredients are noodles, cherry tomatoes, strained tomatoes, mozzarella and Parmesan. The preparation takes about 35 minutes and yields 6 servings. Ideal as a hearty and inexpensive family meal or for lovers of warm, light summer cuisine.

Ingredients (14 ingredients)

  • 500 g Cherry tomatoes
  • 400 g Noodles
  • 500 g Strained tomatoes
  • 200 g Cream
  • 30 g Parmesan
  • 20 g Basil
  • 2 Stück Mozzarella
  • 2 Zehen Garlic
  • 1 Stück Onion, red
  • 1 Stück Chili pepper
  • 1 Prise Sugar
  • nach Geschmack Salt
  • nach Geschmack Pepper
  • 2 EL Olive oil

Preparation (8 steps)

Prepare noodles

Bring plenty of water to a boil in a pot and add salt. Cook 400 g of noodles (e.g. tortiglioni or penne rigate) according to the package instructions. Then drain and return to the pot. Preheat the oven to 200°C top/bottom heat (180°C circulating air) and lightly grease a casserole dish (approx. 35 x 25 cm).

Chop onion, garlic and chili pepper

Peel and halve 1 red onion and place in the mixing bowl. Chop for 3 sec./speed 5. Add 2 cloves of garlic and chop for 3 sec./speed 7. Transfer everything to a bowl. Wash, core and finely chop 1 chili pepper.

Sauté onion, garlic and chili pepper

Put 2 tbsp olive oil in the mixing bowl, add the chopped onion, garlic and chili pepper and sauté for 3 min./120°C/speed 1.

Prepare tomato sauce

Thermomix® Setting
3 min/212°F/Speed 2 100

Add 500 g strained tomatoes, 200 g cream, 1 pinch of sugar, salt and pepper to the mixing bowl and simmer for 3 min./100°C/speed 2.

Add Parmesan

Thermomix® Setting
10 sec/140°F/Speed 2 60

Add 30 g freshly grated Parmesan to the mixing bowl and stir in for 10 sec./60°C/speed 2.

Mix noodles, tomatoes and mozzarella

Thermomix® Setting
20 sec/Linkslauf/Speed 2 Reverse

Add the drained noodles, 500 g halved cherry tomatoes, 20 g plucked basil leaves and a ball of mozzarella (125 g) cut into pieces to the mixing bowl and mix for 20 sec./reverse/speed 2.

Bake casserole

Pour the noodle mixture into the prepared casserole dish. Pluck the second ball of mozzarella (125 g) into pieces and spread over the top. Bake the casserole in the preheated oven on the middle rack for about 20 minutes.

Serve

Garnish the finished noodle casserole with fresh basil leaves and serve.
