Description

These homemade rolls with a crispy crust are a delicious and inexpensive alternative to store-bought baked goods. The recipe uses fresh yeast and simple ingredients to create an airy dough. Preparation takes about 30 minutes of work and 180 minutes of total time. Ideal for a hearty breakfast or as a side dish to soups and salads.

Ingredients (5 ingredients)

  • 500 g Wheat flour, e.g. type 500
  • 20 g Fresh yeast
  • 270 ml Warm water
  • 1 EL Sugar
  • 1 EL Salt

Prepare the yeast

Add 20 g fresh yeast and 1 tbsp sugar to the mixing bowl and dissolve for 2 min./37°C/speed 2.

Prepare the dough

Add 500 g wheat flour, approx. 270 ml warm water and 1 tbsp salt to the mixing bowl with the yeast-sugar mixture and knead for 3 min./kneading setting.

Let the dough rise

Place the dough in a bowl, cover and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, until the volume has doubled.

Shape the rolls

Divide the dough on a floured work surface into about 8-10 equal pieces and shape into rolls. Place the formed rolls on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.

Bake the rolls

Bake the rolls in a preheated oven at 200°C top/bottom heat for about 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
