Description

This marinade with lemon and garlic is a real all-rounder for meat! I especially like to make it in the summer for barbecues. The acidity of the lemon harmonizes wonderfully with the spicy garlic and fresh herbs. This makes the meat super tender and juicy. But you can also use the marinade for sliced meat, which is then reminiscent of gyros. A poem with tzatziki and bread! The long marinating time is worth it, as the meat soaks through nicely. Ideal for spontaneous barbecue parties when you can prepare the meat the day before.

Ingredients (8 ingredients)

  • 1 piece Lemon, juice of it
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 3 clove Garlic, finely chopped or pressed
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 10 Blätter Basil, fresh
  • 1 TL, gehäuft Oregano, dried
  • 500 g Meat of choice

Preparation (4 steps)

Chop garlic

Put 3 cloves of garlic in the mixing bowl and chop for 3 sec./level 7. If necessary, scrape down the sides with the spatula.

Prepare marinade

Add the juice of 1 lemon, 2 tbsp olive oil, the chopped garlic, salt, pepper to taste, 10 fresh basil leaves and 1 heaped tsp dried oregano to the mixing bowl and mix for 10 sec./level 3.

Marinate meat

Put 500 g of meat of your choice together with the marinade in a freezer bag and mix by kneading the bag. Then marinate in the refrigerator for about 24 hours.

Fry meat

Remove the marinated meat from the refrigerator and fry in a pan with some oil on all sides until cooked.
