Description

These homemade spicy potatoes are a classic of Spanish cuisine, perfect to share as an appetizer or tapa. The key is in the spicy sauce, with its spicy and tasty touch that perfectly complements the crispy potatoes on the outside and tender on the inside. I often prepare them for gatherings with friends, they are always a success! The recipe is simple and quick to make with the Thermomix®, which makes it an ideal option for any occasion. Also, you can adjust the level of spiciness to your liking by adding more or less cayenne pepper. Go ahead and try them!

Ingredients (9 ingredients)

  • 1 piece large potato
  • Olive oil
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Black pepper
  • 3 gotas Tabasco
  • 2 piece Small cayenne peppers
  • 1 container Bottled fried tomato
  • 0.5 container Water
  • 1 rodaja Garlic

Preparation (7 steps)

Initial cooking of the potatoes

Thermomix® Setting
5 min/212°F/Speed 1 100

Fill the Thermomix glass with water up to the 1 liter mark. Peel, chop into cubes of approximately 4 cm and clean the large potato. Place the potato pieces in the basket. Add salt to the water in the glass. Program 5 Min./100°C/Stufe 1.

Drain the potatoes

Remove the basket with the cooked potatoes and drain them well. Set aside.

Fry the potatoes

Pour olive oil into a pan to cover the bottom. Heat over medium heat. Add the semi-cooked potatoes and fry for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Turn the heat to high for 2-3 minutes to brown. Remove the potatoes to a plate with absorbent paper and salt.

Preparation of the spicy sauce

Thermomix® Setting
3 min/248°F/Speed 1 120

Without washing the glass, add a splash of olive oil, a slice of garlic and program 3 Min./120°C/Stufe 1 to sauté the garlic.

Cook the sauce

Thermomix® Setting
5 min/212°F/Speed 2 100

Add the tomato sauce (one glass), 1/2 glass of water, 2 very chopped small cayenne peppers, a little black pepper and 3 drops of tabasco to the glass. Program 5 Min./100°C/Stufe 2.

Crush the sauce (optional)

Thermomix® Setting
10 sec/Speed 7

For a finer sauce, crush the spicy sauce for 10 Sek./Stufe 7.

Serve

Serve the hot fried potatoes with the spicy sauce on top.
