Description

This dish of smoked sausages with Creole spices is a treat for the taste buds! Inspired by the flavors of Reunion Island, it is flavored with ginger, turmeric and enhanced with a hint of cayenne pepper. I often prepare it for a quick and friendly dinner. The sausages, cut into slices, simmer in a creamy tomato sauce. It is a comforting dish, perfect for cool evenings. Accompanied by white rice, it is complete and tasty. Feel free to adjust the amount of chili according to your preferences. A true taste journey guaranteed!

Ingredients (9 ingredients)

  • 600 g smoked sausages
  • 10 g grated ginger
  • 2 c. à s. olive oil
  • 2 piece thinly sliced onions
  • 400 g crushed tomatoes
  • 1 c. à c. cayenne pepper
  • 2 branche thyme
  • 1 c. à c. turmeric
  • 12 cl water

Preparation of the sausages

Cut the smoked sausages into slices on a cutting board. Set aside.

Chop the onions

Thermomix® Setting

Place the thinly sliced onions in the Thermomix bowl and chop for 3 Sek./Stufe 5.

Sauté the onions

Thermomix® Setting
3 min/248°F/Speed 1 120

Add the olive oil to the Thermomix bowl and sauté the chopped onions for 3 Min./120°C/Stufe 1.

Add the ingredients

Add the smoked sausage slices, grated ginger, crushed tomatoes, thyme, turmeric, cayenne pepper and water to the Thermomix bowl.

Cooking the rougail

Thermomix® Setting
240 sec/212°F/Speed 1/Linkslauf 100 Reverse

Close the Thermomix bowl and cook the sausage rougail for 240 Sek./100°C/Stufe 1/Linkslauf.

Serve the hot sausage rougail with plain cooked rice as a side dish.
