Description

This hearty beef goulash stew is an absolute classic and warms you from the inside on cold days. I especially like to make it in autumn and winter, when it's uncomfortable outside. The secret lies in the long braising time, which makes the meat tender as butter. The potato dumplings are a great addition and make the dish a complete meal. If you like it a little spicier, you can add a pinch of chili powder. A dash of dry red wine rounds off the taste perfectly. Simply delicious!

Ingredients (14 ingredients)

  • 750 g Onions
  • 2 clove Garlic
  • 2 piece red bell pepper
  • 1 kg Beef goulash
  • 3 tbsp Oil
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Sweet paprika
  • Rose paprika
  • 1 tbsp Tomato paste
  • 2 tbsp Flour
  • 150 ml dry red wine
  • 1 pack Mini-dumplings shaped potato dumplings
  • 2 Stiele Parsley

Preparation (9 steps)

Chop onions and garlic

Put 750 g onions and 2 cloves of garlic in the mixing bowl and chop for 3 sec./level 5. Push down with the spatula.

Chop bell peppers

Add 2 red bell peppers in pieces and chop for 3 sec./level 4. Push down with the spatula.

Sauté vegetables

Thermomix® Setting
3 min/248°F/Speed 1 120

Add 3 tbsp oil and sauté for 3 min./120°C/level 1.

Fry meat

Pat 1 kg beef goulash dry and cut into smaller pieces if necessary. Fry the meat vigorously in a separate pan with a little oil and then add to the mixing bowl.

Season and add tomato paste

Season with salt, pepper, sweet paprika and rose paprika. Add 1 tbsp tomato paste and 2 tbsp flour and stir for 20 sec./level 2.

Deglaze and simmer

Deglaze with 150 ml dry red wine and 1 liter water, bring to a boil and simmer for 120 min./100°C/level 1 reverse.

Cook dumplings

Put 1 1/2 liters of water in the mixing bowl and bring to a boil. Add 1 pack (400 g) mini-dumplings shaped potato dumplings and cook bubbly for 7 min./100°C/level 1 reverse.

Chop parsley

Wash 2-3 sprigs of parsley, shake dry and put in the mixing bowl. Chop for 3 sec./level 5.

Finish and arrange

Remove the dumplings and let them drain. Season the goulash again and arrange with the dumplings. Sprinkle and garnish with chopped parsley.
