Description

This dish is a true classic of Italian cuisine! The Strozzapreti, a traditional pasta shape, harmonize perfectly with the fresh mussels. A touch of garlic, fresh parsley and a dash of extra virgin olive oil round off the taste experience. The preparation is simple and quick, ideal for a light lunch or a cozy dinner with friends. If you like it a little spicier, you can add a pinch of peperoncino. A feast for all lovers of Mediterranean cuisine!

Ingredients (7 ingredients)

  • Fresh or homemade pasta
  • Mussels
  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • Fine salt
  • Pepper
  • Garlic
  • Parsley

Preparation (9 steps)

Prepare mussels

Thoroughly clean fresh mussels (quantity as needed) under running water and remove beards. Sort out damaged or already opened mussels.

Steam mussels

Thermomix® Setting
15 min/Varoma/Speed 1 Varoma

Place the cleaned mussels in the Varoma container. Fill 500 ml of water into the mixing bowl, attach Varoma and steam for 15 min./Varoma/speed 1 until the mussels have opened. Sort out unopened mussels.

Prepare mussels

Let the cooked mussels cool slightly. Remove 3/4 of the mussels from the shell and set aside. Keep the remaining mussels in the shell for decoration.

Chop garlic and parsley

Thermomix® Setting
3 sec/Speed 7

Put 1-2 cloves of garlic (depending on taste) and a bunch of parsley in the mixing bowl and chop for 3 sec./speed 7. Push down with the spatula.

Prepare sauce

Thermomix® Setting
3 min/248°F/Speed 1 120

Add 3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil to the mixing bowl and sauté for 3 min./120°C/speed 1.

Add mussels

Thermomix® Setting
2 min/212°F/Linkslauf Speed 1 100 Reverse

Add the removed mussels, the mussels in the shell, salt and pepper to taste to the mixing bowl and heat for 2 min./100°C/reverse speed 1.

Cook pasta

In a separate pot, bring enough water to a boil, add salt and cook the strozzapreti (amount according to package instructions) al dente according to package instructions.

Mix pasta and sauce

Thermomix® Setting
1 min/212°F/Linkslauf Speed 1 100 Reverse

Add the drained pasta to the mussel sauce in the mixing bowl and mix for 1 min./100°C/reverse speed 1.

Serve

Arrange the strozzapreti with mussel sauce on plates and serve immediately. Garnish with fresh parsley as desired.
