Description

This Turkish marble cake is a classic baking recipe that can be easily prepared with the Thermomix®. The cake consists of a light and a dark dough with cocoa, which together create a beautiful marble pattern. With a preparation time of about 70 minutes, it is ideal for coffee visits or as a sweet treat for the family. The cake is a delicious dessert classic.

Ingredients (10 ingredients)

  • 3 Stück Eggs
  • 200 ml Sugar
  • 150 ml Cooking oil
  • 200 ml Milk
  • 100 ml Water
  • 1 Päckchen Vanilla sugar
  • 1 Päckchen Baking powder
  • 360 g Flour
  • 1 EL Cocoa
  • 30 ml Water

Preparation (8 steps)

Beat eggs and sugar

Add 3 eggs and 200 ml sugar to the mixing bowl and beat for 3 min./speed 4 until the mixture reaches a creamy consistency.

Add liquid ingredients

Add 150 ml cooking oil, 200 ml milk and 100 ml water to the egg-sugar mixture in the mixing bowl and mix for 20 sec./speed 3.

Mix and add dry ingredients

Add 1 packet of vanilla sugar, 1 packet of baking powder and 3 glasses of flour (approx. 360g) to the mixing bowl and mix for 30 sec./speed 4 to complete the base dough. Use a spatula to push the ingredients down from the edge.

Divide the dough

Pour a little more than half of the light dough from the mixing bowl into a cake tin that has been generously greased with butter or margarine.

Prepare cocoa dough

Add 1 tablespoon of cocoa and approx. 2 tablespoons of water (approx. 30 ml) to the remaining dough in the mixing bowl and mix for 20 sec./speed 3 to adjust the consistency to the light dough.

Add dark dough

Pour the dark dough over the light dough into the cake tin (pour in only one place, no further movements necessary).

Baking

Bake the cake in a preheated oven at 170°C (top/bottom heat) for approx. 45 minutes. After the baking time, do the toothpick test. If no more dough sticks to the wooden stick, remove the cake from the oven.

Cool and serve

Let the cake cool completely, then remove it from the tin, cut it into slices and serve.
