Description

This chicken-vegetable-wok with turmeric millet, prepared in the Thermomix®, is a quick and healthy main course with millet, chicken, turmeric and fresh vegetables such as carrots and pak choi. The preparation takes about 40 minutes and yields 2 servings. Ideal for light cuisine or as a nutritious family meal. The recipe is rich in vegetables and offers a balanced meal.

Ingredients (17 ingredients)

  • 125 g Millet
  • 1 Stück small Onion
  • 1 Stück Garlic clove
  • 3 EL Sesame oil (alternatively rapeseed oil)
  • 0.5 TL ground Turmeric
  • 2 Stück Carrots
  • 1 Stange Celery stalk
  • 150 g Baby pak choi
  • 150 g frozen Peas
  • 250 g Chicken breast fillet
  • 2 EL Soy sauce (e.g. Tamari)
  • 1 EL Lime juice
  • 2 TL Sambal oelek
  • 1 EL Peanuts
  • 3 Stiele Coriander leaves
  • Salt
  • Pepper from the mill

Preparation (10 steps)

Chop onion

Peel the onion, halve it and put it in the mixing bowl. Chop for 3 sec./speed 5.

Chop garlic

Peel the garlic, put it in the mixing bowl and chop for 3 sec./speed 7.

Sauté onion and garlic

Add 1 tbsp sesame oil (alternatively rapeseed oil) and sauté for 3 min./120°C/speed 1.

Sauté millet and turmeric

Add millet and turmeric and sauté for 1 min./120°C/speed 1 while stirring.

Cook millet

Pour in 1/4 l water, season the millet with salt and pepper and cook for 5 min./100°C/speed 1. Then transfer to a bowl and keep warm.

Chop carrots and celery

Clean and peel the carrots, clean and wash the celery, put both in the mixing bowl and chop for 4 sec./speed 4.

Fry chicken

Wash the meat, pat it dry and cut it into strips about 1/2 cm thin. Heat 1 tbsp oil in a separate pan and lightly fry the chicken in it over medium to high heat for 2 to 3 minutes, turning, remove and set aside.

Sauté vegetables

Put the remaining oil in the mixing bowl, add carrots, celery and pak choi stalks and sauté for 2 min./Varoma/speed 1.

Add and heat remaining ingredients

Mix in millet, pak choi leaves and peas. Mix in the fried chicken again, season everything with soy sauce, lime juice and sambal oelek and heat for 2 min./100°C/Reverse speed speed 1.
