Description

This garlic-chili-herb oil with a citrus note is prepared in the Thermomix® from olive oil, garlic, chili, lemon, and fresh herbs. This vegetarian flavored oil from the category of pastes is ready in 30 minutes and yields one portion. Ideal as finger food, appetizer, or gift idea. Due to its simple preparation, it is perfect for quick, aromatic cuisine. Refines salads, pasta, or grilled vegetables.

Ingredients (10 ingredients)

  • 250 ml high-quality olive oil (mild or medium-fruity)
  • 2 Stück garlic cloves, finely chopped or sliced
  • 0.5 TL chili flakes (depending on desired spiciness)
  • 0.5 TL coarse sea salt
  • 1 TL honey or agave syrup (optional, rounds off the taste)
  • 0.5 TL lemon zest (untreated lemon)
  • 1 Zweig fresh rosemary
  • 1 Zweig fresh thyme
  • 1 Zweig fresh oregano or marjoram
  • basil leaves (fresh)

Chop Garlic

Add garlic cloves to the mixing bowl and chop for 3 sec./speed 7. Scrape down the sides with the spatula.

Add olive oil, garlic, chili flakes, sea salt, rosemary sprig, thyme sprig, and oregano sprig to the mixing bowl and heat for 10 min./70°C/speed 1/Reverse.

Add lemon zest and honey or agave syrup and stir in for 10 sec./speed 2/Reverse.

Add basil leaves and let steep for 2 min./speed 1/Reverse.

Strain and Bottle

Strain the oil through a fine sieve into a clean glass bottle or screw-top jar. Remove basil leaves.
