Description

These sweet and sour morsels are perfect for a tasty aperitif or as an appetizer during the holidays. The combination of the sweetness of the dates, the saltiness of the ham and the creaminess of the fontina is simply irresistible. I often prepare them when I have guests for dinner and they always disappear in the blink of an eye! The preparation is really simple and quick, also ideal for those who don't have much experience in the kitchen. An original and tasty idea that will win over all palates. Try them, you won't regret it!

Ingredients (5 ingredients)

  • 12 piece Medjoul Dates
  • 100 g Cured ham
  • 80 g Fontina cheese
  • 50 g Walnut kernels
  • 2 tsp Multiflower honey

Preparation (5 steps)

1

Preparation of the fontina

Cut the fontina into small sticks, adjusting to the length of the date. No Thermomix setting required for this step.

2

Filling the dates

Insert a fontina stick inside each date. To give a crunchy internal note, also add half a walnut kernel on top of the cheese. Close the date, pressing lightly (it will not close completely, that's fine). No Thermomix setting required for this step.

3

Wrapping with ham

Take the slices of cured ham and cut them in half lengthwise. Wrap each stuffed date with half a slice of ham. Try to cover the opening of the date well to "seal" the cheese inside. No Thermomix setting required for this step.

4

Baking in the oven

Turn on the oven to 200°C (ventilated mode). Arrange the dates on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Bake in the central rack for about 10 minutes. The ham must become crispy and the cheese must begin to melt. No Thermomix setting required for this step.

5

Addition of honey

Remove from the oven and arrange them on a nice tray. Complete with a drizzle of honey drizzled over the still warm dates: the heat will make it fluid and irresistible. No Thermomix setting required for this step.
