  • 750 ml Vegetable broth
  • 250 g red lentils dried
  • 3 piece Garlic cloves
  • 300 g Bell peppers, e.g. red and green
  • 1 piece large Onion
  • 1 piece Chili pepper
  • 500 g Kidney beans drained weight
  • 285 g Corn drained weight
  • 400 g diced Tomatoes
  • 400 g sieved Tomatoes
  • 3 tbsp Olive oil
  • 2 tbsp Tomato paste
  • 2 tsp Paprika powder, mild or hot
  • 1.5 tsp Cumin, ground
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 Msp Cayenne pepper
  • 1 pinch Sugar

Preparation (7 steps)

Prepare onion, garlic, chili pepper and bell pepper

Put 1 large onion in the mixing bowl and chop for 3 sec./speed 5. Add 3 garlic cloves and 1 chili pepper and chop for 3 sec./speed 7. Cut 2 bell peppers, e.g. red and green, into cubes and set aside.

Sauté onion

Put 3 tbsp olive oil in the mixing bowl and sauté the chopped onion for 3 min./120°C/speed 1.

Sauté vegetables

Put the diced bell peppers, chopped garlic and chili pepper in the mixing bowl and sauté for 2-3 min./120°C/speed 1.

Add lentils and tomato paste

Speed 2 Reverse

Put 250 g red lentils (dried) and 2 tbsp tomato paste in the mixing bowl and stir briefly on speed 2. Activate reverse rotation.

Deglaze with vegetable broth and add ingredients

Put 750 ml vegetable broth, 400 g diced tomatoes, 400 g sieved tomatoes, 500 g kidney beans (drained weight) and 285 g corn (drained weight) in the mixing bowl.

Season and simmer

Put 2 tsp paprika powder, 1.5 tsp cumin, 1 tsp salt, 1 pinch cayenne pepper and 1 pinch sugar in the mixing bowl. Mix everything well and simmer with the lid half open over medium heat for 15 min./100°C/speed 1. Activate reverse rotation.

Season and serve

Season the Chili sin Carne and serve with parsley or coriander, lime and Crème Fraîche. For more spiciness, add chili flakes or freshly cut chilies.
