Description

This seafood paella is a dish that evokes the flavors of the Mediterranean. The recipe, inspired by Spanish tradition, combines bomba rice with a selection of fresh seafood such as clams, mussels, prawns, cuttlefish and squid. Saffron and sweet paprika give it an unmistakable color and aroma. Perfect for a family meal or a special celebration, this paella is a feast for the senses. Although it requires some time, the end result is worth it. Go ahead and prepare it and surprise your guests with this dish full of flavor and tradition!

Ingredients (15 ingredients)

  • 500 gr Rice
  • 1500 ml Water
  • 0.5 container Olive Oil
  • 2 piece Large Tomatoes
  • 1 piece Onion
  • 1 piece Medium Pepper
  • 1 clove Garlic
  • 100 gr Clams
  • 300 gr Mussels
  • 12 piece Prawns
  • 1 piece Large Cuttlefish
  • 2 piece Large Squid
  • 1 pinch Saffron
  • 1 pinch Sweet Paprika
  • 1 pinch Salt

Preparation of the vegetables

Thermomix® Setting

Introduce the onion, pepper, large tomatoes and garlic clove into the Thermomix bowl. Chop for 5 seconds/Stufe 5. Set aside.

Seafood cleaning

Clean the cuttlefish and large squid, cutting them into small pieces. Clean the prawns, cutting off the whiskers. Clean the clams by scrubbing them under water. Clean the mussels well.

Vegetable sauce

Pour the olive oil into the Thermomix bowl. Add the chopped onion, pepper, tomato and garlic. Sauté for 8 Min./120°C/Stufe 1.

Add the seafood

5 min/212°F/Speed 1/Linkslauf 100 Reverse

Add the clams and mussels to the sauce in the Thermomix bowl. Cook for 5 Min./100°C/Stufe 1/Linkslauf. Remove and set aside.

Incorporate cuttlefish and squid

5 min/212°F/Speed 1/Linkslauf 100 Reverse

Add the large cuttlefish and large chopped squid to the Thermomix bowl. Cook for 5 Min./100°C/Stufe 1/Linkslauf. Remove and set aside.

Toast the rice

5 min/248°F/Speed 1 120

Add the rice to the Thermomix bowl. Incorporate the saffron and sweet paprika. Toast the rice for 5 Min./120°C/Stufe 1.

Final cooking

25 min/212°F/Speed 1/Linkslauf 100 Reverse

Add the water, prawns and salt to taste to the Thermomix bowl. Cook for 25 Min./100°C/Stufe 1/Linkslauf. Do not move the rice during cooking.

Rest and serve

Let the paella rest inside the Thermomix for 5 minutes before serving. Serve hot and enjoy.
