Description

This chicken with prunes dish is a true culinary journey! I love preparing this recipe, especially during the autumn and winter months, as the mild spices like cinnamon and turmeric warm the heart. The combination of tender chicken, soft prunes and melting vegetables is simply divine. It is a perfect dish for a convivial dinner with family or friends. The semolina, prepared at the end, brings a touch of lightness and complements this revisited tagine wonderfully. A real delight!

Ingredients (11 ingredients)

  • 4 piece Chicken thighs
  • 250 g Semolina
  • 2 piece Zucchini(s)
  • 130 g Pitted prunes
  • 500 g Onion(s)
  • 2 c. à café Turmeric
  • 2 Bâton(s) of cinnamon
  • 200 ml Poultry broth
  • 2 c. à soupe Peanut oil
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper

Preparation of the onions

Thermomix® Setting

Peel 500g of onions, cut them into quarters and put them in the Thermomix bowl. Chop for 3 Sek./Stufe 5.

Cooking the onions

Add 2 tbsp of peanut oil to the chopped onions in the Thermomix bowl. Sauté for 3 Min./120°C/Stufe 1.

Preparation of the zucchinis

5 min/248°F/Speed 1 120

Wash 2 zucchinis, cut off the ends and cut them into slices. Add the zucchini slices to the Thermomix bowl. Sauté for 5 Min./120°C/Stufe 1.

Adding the spices and chicken

Sprinkle the vegetables with 2 tsp of turmeric, salt and pepper. Add 4 chicken thighs to the Thermomix bowl.

Cooking the tagine

30 min/212°F/Linkslauf Speed 1 100 Reverse

Add 130g of pitted prunes, 2 cinnamon sticks and 200 ml of poultry broth to the Thermomix bowl. Simmer for 30 Min./100°C/Linkslauf Stufe 1.

Preparation of the semolina

Meanwhile, boil 500 ml of water in a saucepan. Add 250g of semolina in the rain. Cover and let swell.

Serve

Separate the semolina with a fork. Serve the hot tagine with the semolina.
