Description

These oriental minced meat skewers are a real eye-catcher at every barbecue party! The recipe is inspired by a friend from Turkey. The minced meat is refined with aromatic spices such as cinnamon, cloves and oregano and then skewered with colorful bell peppers and fresh bay leaves. The marinade of pomegranate syrup, chili flakes and sumac gives the skewers a fruity-spicy note. The preparation is a bit more complex, but the result is simply delicious and worth it! The skewers taste best fresh from the grill, but they can also be prepared well and eaten cold. An absolute must for all barbecue fans!

Ingredients (16 ingredients)

  • 1 piece Onion
  • 2 Zehen Garlic
  • 750 g Ground beef
  • 1 piece Egg (Size M)
  • 5 tbsp Olive oil
  • 2 tbsp Breadcrumbs
  • 2 Prisen Cinnamon
  • 2 Prisen Ground cloves
  • 1 tsp Dried oregano
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper
  • 4 piece colorful pointed bell pepper
  • 12 piece Fresh bay leaves
  • 2 tsp Pomegranate syrup
  • 0.5 tsp Chili flakes
  • 0.5 tsp Sumac

Preparation (8 steps)

Prepare wooden skewers

Soak wooden skewers in water. This prevents them from burning on the grill.

Chop onion and garlic

Thermomix® Setting
3 sec/Speed 5, 3 sec/Speed 7

Put 1 peeled onion into the mixing bowl and chop for 3 seconds/speed 5. Add 2 cloves of garlic and chop for 3 seconds/speed 7.

Prepare minced meat mixture

Thermomix® Setting
20 sec/Speed 4

Add 750 g ground beef, 1 egg, 1 tbsp olive oil, approx. 2 tbsp breadcrumbs, 2 pinches of cinnamon, 2 pinches of ground cloves, 1 tsp dried oregano, 1/2 tsp salt and some pepper to the mixing bowl and mix for 20 seconds/speed 4.

Form meatballs

Remove the minced meat mixture from the mixing bowl and form about 24 small balls.

Prepare bell pepper

Halve, core, wash and cut 4 colorful pointed bell peppers into approx. 32 pieces. Wash laurel.

Assemble skewers

Thread 3 meatballs alternately with bell pepper and approx. 12 fresh bay leaves onto the skewers. Refrigerate covered until grilling.

Prepare marinade

Thermomix® Setting
10 sec/Speed 3

Put 3 tbsp olive oil, 2 tsp pomegranate syrup, ½ tsp chili flakes and ½ tsp sumac into the mixing bowl and stir for 10 seconds/speed 3. Season with salt and pepper.

Grill skewers

Brush köfte skewers thinly with 1 tbsp oil and grill on the hot grill over direct heat for approx. 10 minutes, turning occasionally, brushing with the marinade approx. 2 minutes before the end of cooking time.
