Description

These crescent-shaped filled puff pastries are a delicious and very easy-to-prepare snack. Perfect for a quick appetizer, a casual brunch, or even to use up leftover cold cuts and cheese you have in the fridge. The puff pastry gives them a crispy texture, and the ham and cheese filling, an irresistible flavor. In addition, the sweet touch of caramelized sugar on top makes them even more special. They are always a hit at home! They are prepared in the blink of an eye and are ideal to share with friends and family. A simple but flavorful recipe.

Ingredients (5 ingredients)

  • 1 piece pastry dough
  • 4 slice ham
  • 4 slice cheese
  • 1 piece egg
  • 1 tbsp sugar

Preparation (7 steps)

1

Dough in portions

Spread the puff pastry dough on a flat surface and, with a knife or pizza cutter, cut it into 8 equal portions, forming triangles.

2

Filling the triangles

Cut each slice of ham and cheese in half. Place half a slice of ham and half a slice of cheese on each dough triangle, near the base.

3

Roll the crescents

Roll each triangle from the base to the tip, forming a crescent. Make sure the filling is well sealed inside the dough.

4

Place on the tray

Preheat the oven to 220°C. Grease a baking tray with a little oil or butter. Place the crescents on the tray, leaving a little space between them.

5

Beat the egg

6

Paint and sprinkle

With a kitchen brush, paint each crescent with the beaten egg. Sprinkle a spoonful of sugar over the painted crescents.

7

Bake the crescents

Bake the crescents in the preheated oven for 15 minutes at 220°C, or until golden brown. If you want a more caramelized finish, you can turn on the oven grill for the last 2 minutes, being careful not to burn them.
