Description

This Thermomix® recipe for spice slices with icing is a Christmas pastry with wheat flour, sugar, cocoa and gingerbread spice. Preparation with the Thermomix® takes about 40 minutes and yields 24 servings. Ideal as finger food or dessert in winter. The recipe is easy to implement and is suitable for the whole family.

Ingredients (10 ingredients)

  • 500 g Wheat flour (Type 405)
  • 250 g Sugar
  • 3 EL Baking cocoa
  • 1 EL Gingerbread spice
  • 1 TL Baking powder
  • 1 Prise Salt
  • 250 g Butter (soft)
  • 2 Stück Eggs (size M)
  • 200 g Icing sugar
  • 3 EL Lemon juice

Preparation (8 steps)

Preheat oven and prepare trays

Preheat the oven to 180 °C circulating air. Line two baking trays with baking paper.

Mix dry ingredients

15 sec/Speed 4

Put 500 g wheat flour (Type 405), 250 g sugar, 3 tbsp baking cocoa, 1 tbsp gingerbread spice, 1 tsp baking powder and 1 pinch of salt in the mixing bowl and mix for 15 sec/speed 4.

Prepare dough

Thermomix® Setting
2 min/Kneading speed

Add 250 g soft butter in pieces and 2 eggs (size M) to the dry ingredients in the mixing bowl and knead for 2 min/kneading stage to form a homogeneous dough.

Shape dough

Remove the dough from the mixing bowl and divide into six portions. Form each portion into a roll that is long enough to fit lengthwise on the baking sheet. Place three rolls each on a baking sheet.

Bake

Place both trays in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes.

Prepare icing

Thermomix® Setting
20 sec/Speed 3

While the dough rolls are baking, put 200 g icing sugar and 3 tbsp lemon juice in the mixing bowl and mix for 20 sec/speed 3 until a thick icing forms.

Decorate and cut

Take the baked dough rolls out of the oven and let them cool for 5 minutes. Then spread with the icing. While still warm, cut diagonally into approx. 2 cm wide strips and let cool on a wire rack.

Store

Store the spice slices in a well-closing tin can.
